My internet connection is really iffy at the moment. A tech is coming Monday to have a look at my modem. However I won't be dependable for a shift till I'm certain that the modem won't go out on me. So for now it's just you two gals lynne and Deb. I'll be back as soon as the modem lets me back.

It's roughly 10:30am Monday morning. The tech guys have been here from my ISP and the tech told me that I was receiving too much signal so he went out to the poll to test the cable and it was the connector. So everything is working again. Thank you both for holding down the fort. *S*

Two days ago (Monday) a technician came out to my home and unplugged the black cord from my modem and plugged it into his cord to test the signal. I was told that I was receiving too much signal. So he goes out to the pole and changes the connector and brings me the old connector. He tells me that the connector was the cause of the too much signal. Moments after he leaves the connection goes down again. So I call my ISP back and another guy comes out the next day. He does the same test, and tests some other areas of the computer and tells me that everything is fine. He was to do a modem swap and says there really is no need but if I want he will do it anyway even though the modem that he'd swap would be about the same age as the current modem (3 years) so I tell him to go ahead and swap the modems. Everything is fine till a little after 4pm that afternoon when my connection goes down again.
I call my ISP again and here a message that currently there is a service interuption in my area. So I wait all day till morning, and still in the morning I'm having connectivity problems. So again this morning I place a call to my ISP and the lady tells me to unplug the modem from the wall, turn off my pc, wait 2 minutes then plug the modem back into the wall and turn on my pc. Everything seemed fine after that for almost 7 minutes. I called my ISP again and told them what happened. I was told to do the usual, unplug the power source from the modem, wait 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
When I did that the guy that I was talking too from my ISP could not read my modem on his end so another technician is coming out this Friday sometime between 8am and Noon because the only available time for Thursday would be all day (between 8am to 8pm) and I can't do Thursday. So for now I have limited connectivity.
